Guest make-up: Natural, shopisticated and long-lasting

10.09.2024
Get ready for your next event and discover the keys to making your guests' make-up look sophisticated, natural, and last longer.

When you are invited to an event, your make-up must obey several rules:

Firstly, it must be kind to your skin - we can't forget that - secondly, it must be long-lasting. Thirdly, it must be comfortable - it must not feel heavy on your face - and fourthly, and most importantly, it must not 'hide' your face - it's not a good day to improvise.

If you think that checking each of these points is complicated, Marta Arce, make-up artist and creative co-director of U/1ST, has the best tricks to make the step-by-step process of guest make-up a real walk in the park and not an obstacle course.

8 TIPS FOR NATURAL, SOPHISTICATED AND LONG-LASTING GUEST MAKE-UP

Step 1

We always start by cleansing the skin for perfect skin before every makeup application. This step is essential, and we cannot skip it.

Step 2

After your usual cleansing and skincare routine, using a fluid foundation such as U/1ST's Multiactive Advanced Serum Foundation is best to ensure your make-up lasts and doesn't hide your face. It has an incredibly good-face effect, and its formula, rich in active ingredients such as vitamin C, copper peptides and hyaluronic acid, gives it long-lasting, short- and long-term skin-care benefits. The trick is to apply a small amount of a foundation shade that matches your skin tone to strategic areas, such as redness and/or any imperfections, for a natural, even result.

Step 3

The ideal concealer for dark circles is one that you apply directly to the area with a dabbing motion. If you're unsure which shade to choose, here's the trick: salmon or orange concealers work best with all skin tones. Like U/1ST's Multiactive Brightening Concealer, an eye contour concealer that blurs, brightens and hydrates the skin. It contains peptides, caffeine, vitamin C, CBD and hyaluronic acid.

Step 4

To illuminate, apply a lighter base on the bridge of the nose, the arch under the eyebrows, the upper part of the cheekbones, the nasolabial fold...

Step 5

To enhance features, add depth and volume, and even draw attention away from unwanted areas such as a double chin, we will apply a darker foundation than the one we use to even out the whole face. We will choose one half or one shade darker.

Step 6

Once we have created our natural look of perfect skin, we can finish it off with a few touches of colour. Apply a cream blusher in a pink and/or orange shade to the cheeks for a fresh, natural, youthful look. It can also be used as an eyeshadow on the eyelid. Multiactive Advanced Serum Blush by U/1ST awakens the cheeks and brings that extra bit of life to the face. The skin gets that 'glow skin' effect we love so much: much healthier, juicier and with a natural, luminous look. The formula contains lapacho oil, caffeine and vitamin E.

Step 7

Finally, apply a tinted lip balm by dabbing it with your fingers over your lips to make them look juicier and over the bridge of your nose to give your skin a sun-kissed look. If you want to highlight your mouth, try U/1ST's Multiactive Advanced Lip Balm Carmen. A deep red lipstick with a semi-matte finish beautifies and conditions the lips thanks to its formula with retinol, hyaluronic acid and shea butter.

Step 8

We can also add mascara to give our eyes definition as a finishing touch. Multiactive Treatment Black Mascara by U/1ST is a lifting mascara with argan oil and D-panthenol that not only applies make-up but also nourishes, moisturises and defines.

Now, you have all the keys to success for your next event. See you next time.
